Sealing Chateau D'Or limestone floor

Can you recommend a good sealant for our newly installed limestone floor? We want a good sealer to prevent stains.
Thanks,
Laura
Hi Laura,
There are so many sealers available. We sell a penetrating sealer here on our website that works great.
Go to the products page if you'd like to order it.
It will take approximately 3-4 days to arrive by Fed Ex. If you order on the weekend it won't ship until Monday.
If you want it sooner, you can go to a tile store and ask for a good penetrating sealer. Stay away from the product in the blue bottle, that almost all contractors use, called Miracle 511.
This product creates more problems than it's worth and you will regret it if you use it. It also is bad smelling you will need a mask to apply it.
Whatever you use, make sure there is adequate ventilation and that you remove any excess and all residue after it has penetrated for 10-15 minutes.
Removing the residue is very important.
Remember, whatever sealer you use, you will have to scrub your limestone floor at least once maybe twice a year. After you scrub it clean, it's always best to seal it again.
I know most sealers, even the one we sell says it will last 2-5 years, but sealers protect from staining, not preventing dirt build-up.
No matter how good or how many coats you seal your limestone floor, it will always remain porous and will always hold dirt.
Limestone is one of the most difficult stones to keep clean.
Also, limestone is sensitive to etching from any acidic chemical, like vinegar, lemonade, or orange juice.
The penetrating sealer won't protect your limestone from the acid etching, so keep anything acidic away from you floor.
Again, you can order online from our products page.
I hope this helps.
