Which one is better semigloss or clear for textured traveltine.
Hi Christ,
I'm not sure what you are asking, but I will explain a little bit about sealers.
A penetrating sealer that is used for natural stone like travertine, is used to help protect the travertine from potential staining if something is spilled on the surface.
A penetrating sealer will not leave a finish on a natural stone like travertine, it's only function is to help protect.
A coating will will leave a finish, like a semi-gloss or glossy finish.
I never recommend any coating on any natural stone for so many reasons, I don't have time to type them all.
For one, they look bad and they will create so many headaches for you, I don't recommend any of them.
If you want your travertine to look shiny, buy a shiny travertine, because a chemical shine looks bad.
Also, a matte finish or textured finish travertine can be polished, but a professional stone restoration person will have to do it by powder polishing or possibly using diamond polishing pads first.
These polishing methods do come with a cost, but a professional will make your travertine shine, and I don't mean that plastic shine a chemical coating will leave.
I hope this helps.
