How to remove whitish grout haze after honing and polishing a marble hotel lobby floor?
Hi.
I have been working on honing than polishing a marble floor in a local hotel lobby.
The process is working great and the marble looks fantastic.
However I am getting a white haze left behind in some of the very thin grout lines.
I immediately wipe them up w/ a neutral cleaner and they white haze comes up but eventually resurfaces.
Not as bad as before but still doing it. I am assuming this is from either the honing or polishing substance obviously but what is the best method or best substance or product to remove this haze and keep it removed.
The grout is a dark color so i am looking to keep it that way.
Hi Mathew,
It's sounds like the problem is with polish residue in the grout lines. Is there grout present? I've seen this happen when there is missing grout.
If this is the case, you will need to grout these areas, so the polish doesn't become stuck in those areas.
I would also be sure to rinse as best as you can after polishing. Using the neutral cleaner is a great idea, but to me, it's sounds like polish is staying in the those grout lines.
If you need to talk about this, please feel free to call me during eastern time business hours.
