How to Maintain Polished Concrete Floors

How to Maintain Polished Concrete Floors
If you have polished concrete and want to keep them looking beautiful, you need to know how to maintain polished concrete floors.

Maintaining them is not difficult, but is necessary if you want to preserve their reflective properties. A highly reflective polished floor not only looks great, but helps brighten a room in more ways than one.

Yes, it's literally brighter, which means less lighting is needed, saving on energy costs, but when it's brighter in a room, it can lift the spirits on everyone in in it.

When the polished finsish becomes dull or dirty, the room can become dingy and not feel clean.

Maintenance of Your Polished Concrete is Easy!

The good news is, learning how to maintain polished concrete floors is easy. Dust mopping and wet mopping is all that is needed.

If the polished floor is in a high traffic area, such as grocery store or retail store, door mats outside and inside are highly encouraged to catch any unwanted sand grains from entering the building.

It's these small sand grains that will begin to dull a highly polished concrete floor. The higher the traffic, the more the floor should be dust and wet mopped. An autscrubber could make this cleaning very easy.

No harsh chemicals are needed. No need for alkaline cleaners and of course avoid acids on any concrete floor.

Warm water and a neutral floor cleaner are recommended for periodic cleanings and there are even neutral floor cleaners that are enriched with floor hardners that will help maintain a polished concrete floors abrasion resistence.
