How long to wait After sealing

I have a brand new bathroom with polished marble on floor and walls. The tile was sealed by the contractor. How long should I wait for the sealer to dry before I can use the shower and bathroom?

First of all, you shouldn't let the sealer dry on the marble. Before it dries you should remove any and all sealer.

If the sealer dries on the surface it could leave streaks and those can be difficult to remove.

To remove them you have to re-activate the sealer with more sealer and then remove with dry cloths before it dries again.

It the sealer was removed with dry cloths as I stated above, then you should be okay to use the shower in 24 hours.

I hope this information helps.

Sealing your Ceramic Tile Floor
by: Pedro

Hi Tima,

To answer your questions about cleaning calcium build up on your black ceramic tile floor, what I would do is use is an acidic chemical to help break down the calcium build up.

I would do a test in a small area first to be sure you don't damage your ceramic tile, but usually acid won't harm ceramic tile.

I would also use some razor blades to help scrape away the calcium. It is tedious but it works.

After your ceramic tiles have been cleaned and all the calcium has been removed, then I would seal.

Remember, you're only sealing the grout, not the ceramic tile.

I don't recommend putting any coating on your ceramic tile. A penetrating sealer on your grout is fine.

I hope this helps.
