Hard water stain on limestone tiles
Hi - I've got what looks like a hard water stain on my limestone tiles.
It may or may not have a bit of soap included in the mark but it really just looks like a hard water stain.
What would you recommend to remove it?
Thanks
From the photo you sent it doesn't look like this stain or etch mark is in the shower, because I see finished wood near the mark.
So I'm assuming this stain or etch mark is on the floor in a bathroom or kitchen.
My guess would be that it's an etch mark and occurred from some acidic liquid coming into contact with the limestone (although from the photo this looks like travertine).
This etch mark will likely need to be honed to blend it back to the original finish.
I recommend using some fine sandpaper, maybe a progression of 320 grit, 400 grit to 800 grit.
It looks like a honed finish on the stone tile, so finishing with an 800 grit might blend it just fine.
If you are afraid of doing this, then I suggest calling a stone professional in your area to come and hone the etched tile.
I hope this helps.
