Do I seal a terrazzo tile floor before or after regrouting areas missing grout?
by Kathy
I would like to know the best way to protect a terrazzo tile floor while adding grout to areas that the grout was lifted during a machine cleaning.
Does the grout damage the unsealed tile while applying it?
Also, would the new areas of grout need to be sealed again?
Hi Kathy,
After the cleaning you can go ahead and re-grout the areas that need it.
Make sure to clean the terrazzo of any grout, so not to leave a grout haze.
I would wait a few days after grouting and then seal everything at one time.
You should be fine. Make sure after sealing not to let the sealer dry on the surface.
Remove any residue of sealer about 10 minutes after applying. Then buff your terrazzo to really get any left over sealer off.
That's it! Should look better after the scrubbing.
I hope this helps.
