wet limestone installed
I just had a limestone floor installed in my kids bedrooms.
Before installation, the tiles were left in my terrace without any cover for 5 days. It rained during those days.
Then the tiles were installed, and most of them look darker than they should, and most of them have wet-type marks along the edges of the tiles.
They look as if they are still not completely dry. The floor was installed 4 days ago and hasnt been sealed yet. What should I do and expect?
Limestone is very porous and when it got wet, the water stayed in the limestone. Now that it's installed, it may take a little time for them to dry out.
I wouldn't seal them until they dry out completely. They should dry out. It may take a week or so.
If they don't dry out, then I would talk to the person who installed them. They should have waited until they dried out before installing them.
In my opinion, I think they will dry out, but it may take a little time.
I hope this helps.
