Travertine & Grout cleaning
So MB-1 is neutral for travertine, but MB-2 is alkaline to clean grout?
How do you clean the grout without damaging the tile????
And what (and how) is used to fill those holes before sealing?
We just bought a very nice house, but the Travertine looks as if it has not been well (or frequently) cleaned.
I don't want to spend the next 2 months on my knees nor spend a lot of $$$$ to have someone else (who may be not qualified) to do it.
How do you find a reputable cleaner/re-conditioner? Ask at floor supply stores?
All very good questions. Let me start out by saying don't worry, you can clean it yourself if you're willing to work at it a bit.
I don't know how much tile you need to clean, but, if you clean small areas at time you will find it cleans up. Just be patient.
As far as cleaners go, the MB-2 is for a deeper clean of both the tile and the grout. It's safe for your tile.
MB-1 is a neutral cleaner and is recommended for daily or weekly cleaning. You use the MB-2 for occasional deep cleaning.
If you choose to have someone come clean your tile and grout, interview them and check their references before hiring them.
If you do your due diligence you should be able to find a reputable company.
You can call the local tile store, but they may not know, so I would start with Google, then maybe Angie's List.
If you use Google put in the services you want with the city you live in. This should bring up some good choices.
I hope this helped with your concerns.
