How do i remove mildew from caulking in the shower?
The best thing to do is remove the caulking by cutting it out with a utility knife.
Cut it out completely and then disinfect the area with either bleach or some denatured alcohol.
Disinfecting the area behind the caulked area, will kill the mildew and when you re-caulk the area, the mildew wont grow back as fast.
Caulking can be tricky and if you don't feel comfortable doing it, have someone who has experience doing it.
Remember caulking doesn't last forever and may need to be done every year or maybe longer.
It all depends on how much ventilation the shower has and how you maintain your shower.
I hope this helps.
