Grout Cleaning San JoseLooking for grout cleaning San Jose, California or one of the surrounding cities? Or just some grout cleaning tips?
Did you just clean your ceramic tile and grout recently and now it's dirty again? Now you need to know how to clean grout with great results.
Cleaning tile and grout can either be either a rewarding or a frustrating experience, depending on if there are stains that have penetrated the porous grout.
We have found that most grout can be cleaned to about 85% to it's natural color, with the other 15% showing stains or some sort of discoloration possibly from bleaching or grout discoloration from the installation.
If you're looking for grout cleaning in the San Jose Area, contact us, or if you want to clean your tile and grout on your own, read on.
We recommend cleaning grout with an akaline solution. It isn't necessary to alway clean with an acidic solution, as a high pH solution will help with dirt and grease.
You can buy tile and grout cleaners from the local hardware store or make your own homemade grout cleaner from products in your home.
After the solution has been applied to the tile and grout, let is dwell for 20-30 minutes, keeping it wet.
Letting the akaline solution sit for a while, allows for the dirt and grime to loosen up, making the scrubbing process easier.
Ready? Now for the scrubbing. Using your grout brush, scrub all the grout lines, the best you can being careful not to damage the baseboards with too much water or banging it with the brush.
Now that you've scrubbed all the grout lines you can scrub the tiles with a deck brush making sure to get any low spots that area dirt trap.
Now you can either use a wet/dry vacumm to suck up the dirty solution, or use a mop to mop it up. After the dirty solution has been picked up, it's now time to rinse the floor with warm water.
After the floor has been thoroughly rinsed, dry the tile and grout with cotton cloths, until they are completely dry.
You should know have a pretty clean floor, with the exception of any stubborn grout stains, that sometimes can't be removed.
You are now ready to seal the grout lines which we recommend to be done once the floor is completely dry. For more on sealing grout, see our colorsealing page. If you are in need of grout cleaning San Jose, we encourage your to contact us.
