Discoloration of grout - hard to clean
I used bright white, sanded grout for a bathroom tile floor (porcelain). There are several places where the grout is a slight orange-ish color.
It has proved very difficult to clean. I have scrubbed with cleaners such as soft scrub, even straight bleach.
Can you offer any advice? I would like to get the grout bright white again and will be using a better sealer next time to (hopefully) prevent the discoloration from occurring in the future.
Bright white always looks great when first installed, and then goes downhill very fast.
I was going to suggest the straight bleach, since you can't really bleach out Bright White, but you already tried that.
The only thing I can suggest is after a very thorough cleaning, seal with a Bright White colorseal.
Try the Grout Perfect website to find it. You can do it yourself if your a do it yourselfer.
Just google Grout Perfect and buy a quart of Bright White colorseal, some shammy's and go for it.
You will love your grout once it's colorsealed and it will be a snap to keep clean.
Let me know how it goes and post tome before and after pics. Don't be afraid, you can do it.
