Calcium. Hard water deposit on granite counter top how to remove it.
Have calcium hard water deposit on granite around my faucet how do I remove it without damaging granite.
This is something we see quite often when we clean granite counters. You can use a small razor blaze first wet and then dry to scrape off the calcium off the granite.
Using the razor, scrape towards the fixture. It's really not hard to do and if you're careful, you shouldn't scratch the granite. I've never scratched any granite using razor blades.
Also, if you perform a test in an inconspicuous area before using, you can use CLR to help dissolve some of the calcium. In the test area, you're applying a little of the CLR to see if it etches the granite. Usually, granite is not acid sensitive and should etch. Use the CLR only on the calcified area. Regular use could dull the finish.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
