after grouting vantino marble backsplash tiles much darker !!
I just had my backsplash grouted with pearl gray grout for ventino honed marble back spash in kitchen.
The tiles are MUCH more gray than before grouting ! I used a sealer (two coats) before grouting...
The grout job was finished at 8pm... It is now 12:30qam and the tiles look SO GRAY!
They were MUCH MORE white before grouting... could they be stained for good?!
I was told to wash one more time tomorrow and then seal again.
Are my tiles ruined, or will I wake to lighter tiles???
Please answer asap... my kitchen may be ruined !
I don't think your kitchen is ruined, but I don't know if the marble tile will lighten up. They could after a few days, or they might stay that color.
I've seen stranger things happen with white marble and a lot of times the problems can't be explained.
If you decide to try again I wouldn't use a gray grout, but a white grout.
My opinion would be to use a non-porous tile, like porcelain or ceramic.
Marble will always give you problems. Ceramic and porcelain are great, as you don't have to seal and the they won't absorb anything.
I wish I had better news.
